Are you a gamechanger who brings simulations to life and are only satisfied when the model matches reality? Then we’re looking for you as a System Engineer for #TeamCTRL!

Description

Welcome to CTRL engineering, where we develop innovative high-tech tailor made machines from scratch across all possible industries! From automotive testbenches to validate the electric motors of your future car to vision based quality monitoring systems or an automated dosing system for your Sunday afternoon tea time pancakes! No challenge to big!

As a System Engineer, you’ll be part of our simulation team. You’ll contribute to system simulations, FEM and CFD analyses, from initial concept exploration to detailed validation of (sub)systems. You translate complex technical questions into usable simulation models and results that help shape the design choices of our projects. You’ll work with the Mathworks suite (MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape) and the Siemens suite (Simcenter STAR-CCM+, Simcenter 3D, NX). Besides the simulation work, you’re also hands-on: you test systems yourself, or follow up on testing at the client’s site. Simulation and practice go hand in hand with us, because a model is only as good as its validation on the real system.

What does this mean?

  • Setting up and running system simulations (mechanical, thermal, flow-related) throughout the entire development process, using MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape.
  • FEM analyses in Simcenter 3D / NX for structural validation of machine components and constructions.
  • CFD simulations in Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for flow and thermal issues.
  • Interpreting simulation results and translating them into concrete design recommendations.
  • Testing systems yourself, or being present at and overseeing testing on-site at the client.
  • Collaborating with our mechanical, software and electronics teams.
  • Independently following up on simulation tasks within projects: you take ownership of your part of the project.

Requirements

  • You’re a critical thinker: you question assumptions and look for the right question yourself, not just the right answer.
  • Strong analytical skills, with an eye for detail as well as the bigger picture.
  • You dare to take responsibility for a project or sub-project, even when the path isn’t fully mapped out.
  • Hands-on mindset: it’s second nature for you to be on the shop floor or at the client’s site to validate what you’ve simulated.
  • Experience with or strong interest in MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape and/or Simcenter STAR-CCM+, Simcenter 3D, NX.
  • Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • You’re just as comfortable with conceptual, exploratory analyses as with detailed validation work.
  • Knowledge of Dutch and English is required, French is a plus.

The team

You’ll join our simulation team, which in turn is part of the wider CTRL group.

Together, our 12 colleagues form a broad range of competences, from software development and electronics to mechanical design and machine vision. So you won’t be working in a silo: simulation insights flow through to the other disciplines, and vice versa.

What do we offer?

  • Junior/Senior profile: to be determined in consultation.
  • Compensation: to be determined.
  • Flexibility: to be determined.
  • Team size: to be determined.
  • Projects: to be determined.
