Are you a gamechanger for whom a design only feels right once it truly fits together ‐ down to the millimeter, in CAD, in steel, and in motion? Someone who won’t rest until every part does exactly what it should, from the first sketch to a prototype that works as intended? Then we’re looking for you as a Mechanical Engineer for #TeamCTRL!

Description

Welcome to CTRL engineering, where we develop innovative, custom high-tech machines for a wide range of industries. From test benches for the electric motors of your future car to vision-guided quality control or an automated dosing system for your Sunday pancakes. No challenge is too big!

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’re our go-to for the mechanical design of these machines. Mechanics, hydraulics and electrical drives often come together in one compact whole ‐ sometimes everything literally has to fit on a napkin. You make sure every part fits, moves and holds up, from the first concept to a machine that’s actually running on the shop floor.

You don’t just work at your own desk: mechanical design constantly touches on electronics, software and production, so you’re always seeking alignment with those disciplines. You also put your design to the test in reality ‐ with a prototype, a test, or simply a colleague’s critical eye ‐ because a drawing is only good once the machine actually works.

What does this mean?

  • You develop machines completely from scratch, or build on an existing machine: from brainstorming and conceptualizing, through CAD design, to a working prototype or a successful modification.
  • You’re the driving force within the mechanical team: you take the lead, roll up your sleeves, safeguard design quality, and share your knowledge with the team.
  • You develop drawing conventions, parts libraries and design templates, so every project gets off to a smooth start and the same mistakes don’t keep happening.
  • You’re closely involved in both design and production: you follow how your design goes into production and adjust where needed.
  • You produce detailed drawings and specifications according to GD&T and applicable industry standards, ready for production.
  • You keep a close eye on time and budget: deadlines are always just around the corner with us!

Requirements

  • Passionate about pushing the boundaries of complex, multidisciplinary machine building!
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as CREO or NX. Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS for strength and stress analysis is a plus.
  • Skilled in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and creating detailed drawings and specifications according to industry standards.
  • Proven track record in solving complex technical problems and optimizing designs for performance and manufacturability.
  • Experience with sheet metal design, motion control and tolerance stack-up analysis, and knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (machining, welding, casting, …) is highly desirable.
  • Familiar with product testing and validation methodologies, including defining and running experiments, analyzing test data, and iterating designs based on test results.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical and software engineers, as well as production and quality assurance staff, and directly with clients and suppliers, both internally and at partners.
  • You’re flexible and handle pressure well: designing complex machines is fun, but unpredictable, and we work hard, so deadlines are always just around the corner!
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English is required, French is a plus.

Benefits

  • You’ll join a team of enthusiastic and passionate colleagues who share your dedication to innovation.
  • You’re involved in the design and development of truly unique projects and solutions, from start to finish. Yes, you can be a gamechanger in the field of mechatronics! There’s nothing more exciting than seeing your work in action.
  • Access to a broad portfolio of training courses, so you can keep developing.
  • The chance to be part of a fast-growing company where you can grow in your field or area of interest.
  • A convenient office location close to the highway (E40-E403), the central station and the charming city of Bruges, making for a stimulating work environment!
  • An attractive salary package with extra benefits such as meal vouchers, comprehensive insurance, extra vacation days, a company car and our beloved Friday fries tradition.
